Crooked River Alliance of TimeBanks

Welcome to the Crooked River Alliance of TimeBanks, Inc.!

The Crooked River Alliance of TimeBanks (CRAT)
collaborates with local timebanks and their members
to educate, train, and share resources
to strengthen neighborhoods and build a web of
healthy, sustainable, and interconnected communities
in the Great Lakes region.

The local timebanks are "hubs" of CRAT ~ while they focus on a particular community, all the hubs (and members of the hubs) belong to CRAT. This means that any member of any hub can exchange with members from any of the other hubs, just like they would with someone in the same hub.

The members of CRAT are:
Kent Community TimeBank
Twinsburg Community TimeBank
Ravenna Community TimeBank
Stark County Community TimeBank
Cuyahoga Falls Community TimeBank

We are a community building program where we exchange our skills, talents and passions.  When you do something you like to do for someone for one hour, you earn one Time Credit.  You may then spend that Time Credit on any of the hundreds of services offered in our TimeBank!  The Kent Community TimeBank opened in April 2010 and continues to grow weekly!  In 2013, we saw the start of the Twinsburg Community and the Ravenna Community TimeBanks, followed in 2014 with the Stark County Community TimeBank, and in 2015 with the Cuyahoga Falls Community TimeBank.  We welcome you to join our timebank family and enrich your life one hour at a time!   To learn more about timebanking in general, visit

If you are not yet a member of one of our local community timebanks, you will only have access to this homepage.  To register, you may click on the tab to the right called "Create an account".  After you fill out the online application, follow the instructions and our Membership Coordinator will be in touch with you!

Before being activated in the timebank, we ask that you attend an orientation, which will give you the opportunity to learn more about the concept of timebanking in general and specifically, how our local timebanks operate.  You will also get a chance to see this software before diving in!

Join other members at our monthly potluck and socials!

Research shows that we are more likely to make timebank exchanges with community members we have met face to face! The monthly potluck is the place to do it! We always have an amazing buffet complete with a variety of dishes!   Please label your dish with ingredients.  Sometimes, we discuss a few minutes of "business", spotlight some members and their offers and/or talk about the benefits of timebanking! The potlucks will inspire you, guaranteed!

For Kent, the potlucks are always the first Friday of every month at the United Church of Christ in Kent Ohio (1400 E. Main Street, Kent, Ohio  44240 - park and enter in the back) at 6:30 pm!  You do not have to be a member to attend the potlucks and you can retroactivate your Time Credit for bringing a dish!
The Stark County Community TimeBank and the Kent Community TimeBank offer many events and gatherings that will be posted on the calendar on the homepage of this software.

 Photos:  Tina B. LOVES speedbanking!
Tom S. LOVES grilling (even in the snow)!
Isa learned how to make a mosiac tile for Time Credits and
Mary Ann K. learned how to make a pie crust!

Dr. Edgar Cahnthe "Father of Timebanking," and his wife, Dr. Christine Gray shared with us their inspiration, dedication and commitment to helping create a more just and equitable system of exchange.

They were wonderful - and totally impressed with what WE are doing here in KENT and the KENT COMMUNITY TIMEBANK!!!

We know that many were unable to come... The presentation was videorecorded and IS HERE!!
