KCTB Potluck & Social
We gather every month to meet one another, eat good food and BUILD community! Please join members of the timebank to learn about our system of exchange and maybe make a new friend.
We know potlucks aren't for everyone and we are all busy but here is a list of myths that we would like to debunk for you:
MYTH: I don't want to go because I don't have time to cook a nice dish.
FACT: There are a great many easy things you can bring to supplement our meal. Consider a bagged salad, a pizza, cottage cheese or fruit. How about a nice healthy beverage? We all like chips and salsa or dip. Fresh fruit and cut up carrots work too!
MYTH: I'm just too exhausted to even think on Friday nights let alone converse with anyone.
FACT: Okay, you might be tired but now you don't have to make dinner or do dishes. Maybe meeting someone new will spark some energy you didn't know you had. And, you'll be home by 8:30 and can go to bed early!
MYTH: I don't like potluck food.
FACT: Clearly, you haven't been to our potlucks. We always have a big beautiful salad, macaroni and cheese, sometimes beautiful ethnic dishes, and typically vegetarian AND vegan options. Ray will make fish or venison on occasion. Homemade cookies, pies and cakes find bellies to fill as well. Sometimes we grill sausages or burgers, that's fun too.
Hopefully, we have changed your mind on some or all of these myths and will see you there. Bring your own plateware if you are able.
